I designed an elegant wedding cake to go with the overall paired-back luxury style. I wanted a cake design that was masculine, yet still beautiful. Marbled icing is a very popular trend in wedding cakes this year, and so I chose this strong theme for the top two tiers, and a bottom tier to match, also in pale grey but with thin vertical lines.
I love sugar flowers so I was loathe to leave them off! I chose whites and shades of deep blue/purple, and spruce green so that it wasn't too girly. They were attached in an elaborate corsage with a wildflower feel, but they don't take over the wedding cake.
The beautiful Trades Hall of Glasgow was the perfect setting for a high-end wedding, with the extravagant decor it's an unforgettable wedding venue.
I was over the moon with the finished results, and feel this is one of my best wedding cake designs to date, and perfect for the luxury Scottish theme.
