I love finding out all the little details about clients weddings! It helps me understand what kind of cake design I can create for them, when I can envisage their style and how it all comes together as a whole. Natalie & Elliot planned the most beautiful, personalised day at the stunning Pollokshields Burgh Halls, and painstakingly decorated the hall full of beautiful vintage items and quirky little personal details.
It's always good to know who the other suppliers are, there are some amazingly talented wedding creatives in Scotland who are a joy to work with! So I was delighted to hear their wedding was being shot by my friend Suzie from Suzanne Li Photography! Suzie has such a sunny, energetic personality, her pictures really capture the little moments of sentiment between a couple. And she takes awesome shots of the cakes too! The flowers are from Lavender Blue, a wonderful florist in Hyndland. I'm just sharing the cake photos as Natalie & Elliot preferred to keep the photos of themselves private, but I guarantee you they were radiant with joy! One of the loveliest couples I've ever had the pleasure of working with.
The cake was to be a colour palette of blush neturals with a touch of pastel greens, with the sugar flowers in a lush, natural arrangement.
The main flowers were the white dahlias, which take hours, and have to be made over several days, applying one little layer of individually cut and rolled petals at a time.
There were blush sugar roses and rosebuds, and some rulled peonies in the palest peach.
Gooseberry shades of ferns added to he natural, wildflower style of the cake.
This was a dream wedding for us to work on! I loved everything about it, and was so pleased with the end result. For me, cakes like this never go out of fashion. They're elaborately detailed, which makes them extremely time-consuming and amounts to a labour of love!
Thank you to Suzie Li for sharing her beautiful photography with me, and thank you to Natalie & Elliot. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
